FIVE LIVE SHOWS 'OPIUM OP OEROL'
Opium op Oerol traditionally reports on the music and theater festival Oerol on Terschelling. At the table in the dunes a number of prominent media figures make an appearance. This years guests are: Hedy d'Ancona and Haddasah de Boer, presenter and singer Rob Kemps, radio icon Frits Spits, presentation duo Khalid & Sophie and program makers, also lovers Jeroen Wollaars and Janine Abbring. THEATER MAAS - THE NOMINATIONS
The Dutch Theater Festival kicks off the theater season. This year AVROTROS will pay attention to this festival in two broadcasts. On May 31 presenter Cornald Maas will surprise a number of actors who have been nominated for the most important VSCD Toneelprijs and who can be seen during the Nederlands Theater Festival. In South Africa, a country of so many scents, colors and above all extremes, I've been on the road with captivating singer and lyricist Stef Bos who lives in Cape Town with his South African wife and three children. What does his life in Cape Town looks like and how does South Africa inspires his work as an artist? Therefore, we also visit township Wellington to rehearse with an amateur choir "The Mamas" and we attend their concert in the city Paternoster. 'FULL HOUSE' FEATURING JOOST PRINSEN
This year he turned eighty; actor, presenter, writer and singer Joost Prinsen. Together with Cornald Maas he looks back on his life, career and loved ones. In his cozy home, Prinsen reflects on his own acting performances, from his successful debut on stage with Wim Sonneveld to his role in the TV drama series ‘Nood’ together with Noraly Beyer, the new love in his life. Furthermore, Prinsen talks about the deep connection he had with his wife Emma, who died in 2020. 'FULL HOUSE' FEATURING ADELHEID ROOSEN
In this episode of a AVROTROS documentary series about iconic theatre, music and filmstars, host Cornald Maas follows performer and actrice Adelheid Roosen in her daily life and routine. Adelheid Roosen gives a voice to those who are rarely heard with her theater performances, such as in her so-called 'neighbourhood safaris' - location theater in which the residents themselves play a role in the performance. These performances have already taken place in the Amsterdam Bijlmer, Utrecht Overvecht and in Mexico. Now Adelheid is going to Tangier, Morocco, and we travel with her. AMIE DICKE
Commissioned by the ‘Hartwig Art Foundation’, I’m directing a short film about the artist Amie Dicke who momentarily has a mesmerizing solo show in Landhuis Oud Amelisweerd. For the next couple of years, this unique venue will feature as an exclusive country house of the Centraal Museum Utrecht. This production is a collaboration between Simone van den Ende and JVtv Media. |
FIVE LIVE SHOWS 'OPIUM OP OEROL'
After two long years of Covid, the theater and music festival 'Oerol' finally could take place live on the beautiful island Terschelling again! And that also applied for the television show Opium op Oerol which exclusively reports on this festival and its creatives. For me personally, this was the third time I directed Opium op Oerol, but during this special edition I directed five multi-camera shows, live from Terschelling. As before, every day host Cornald Maas welcomes a guest with whom he talks about his or her personal cultural interests and 'Oerol' experience. In this edition Simone Weimans, Joost Prinsen and Noraly Beyer, Rik and Splinter, Ron Fresen and Gunay Uslu, State Secretary for Culture and Media dared to make the passage to the island Terschelling.
